Scrum vs Kanban: Which Framework Fits Your Team?

Scrum and Kanban are both agile — but they solve different problems.

Scrum: Structured Sprints

Scrum organises work into fixed-length sprints with defined roles (Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers) and ceremonies. It shines when you need predictable delivery cadence and strong team accountability.

Kanban: Continuous Flow

Kanban visualises work on a board and limits work-in-progress. It excels for support teams, operations, and any environment with continuously arriving work.

Choosing Between Them

Ask: does the work arrive in plannable batches (Scrum) or continuously (Kanban)? Many mature teams blend both — sprint planning with WIP limits.
